Ubisoft has officially kicked off Season 4 of Skull and Bones, called «Shadows of the Deep,» and it brings a ton of new content and challenges to players. In this update, the famous pirate lord Vikram Rajan — The Great Shadow has returned with his Shadow Legion to lay waste to the Indian Ocean. Players will have to face Rajan and his men while offering new seasonal contracts and bounties with unique rewards for completing them.
One of the notable new weapons of this season is the «Garuda,» a mid-size long-range ship that is especially effective with piercing weapons. Using Garuda’s unique perk called «Deadeye,» you will gain up to 80% more weapon damage based on the distance from the target and piercing weapons will grant an extra 20% weapon damage. It also receives temporary armor bonuses and trimming without stamina for ten seconds when its hull health reaches below 40%. Unlockable after 45 tiers in the Smuggler Pass: Garuda.
Another new addition for Season 4 is the «Punctured» status effect, which is inflicted by piercing weapons. This effect does immediate damage and reduces the armor rating (permanent for 15 seconds) of the target — a tactical advantage in naval combat.
Smuggler Pass has been updated, as well, now providing the «Dahaaka» epic torpedo weapon, and «Eye of Heaven» epic mortar — both with their unique perks for combat enhancement.
Perks:
Dahaaka Torpedo:
- Sunder: Torpedoes gain 100% increased speed and pierce through enemy ships, reducing their armor by 200 points for 10 seconds.
- Arming: Increases torpedo damage by 150% if the target is over 100 meters away.
- Piercing II: Adds 20% of damage as piercing damage and increases weak point damage by 75%.
- Flooding II: Adds 20% of damage as flooding damage.
Eye of Heaven Mortar:
- Tempest: Each hit triggers an electric arc that strikes the nearest enemy within a 150-meter radius, dealing 2500 electric damage.
- Blast: Adds 15% of damage as explosive damage in a 50-meter radius.
- Electric II: Adds 20% of damage as electric damage.
A highlight among the changes, players can now obtain a parrot — Scarlett, as a companion after reaching the 70-tier milestone in the Smuggler Pass.
On top of that, the update introduces the «Ghost Ship Defense» mode, in which players must keep spectral attackers at bay during nightly events at your manufactories. This new mode presents a new set of challenges and rewards players for working strategically together to defend assets.
